Job Duties
  • Design, code, and test major features in collaboration with Team Members, Design Engineers, Documentation Specialists, Application Scientists, and other members of the development and technical team to deliver complex changes.
  • Provide design documents and documentation to ensure efficient maintenance and code reuse.
  • Ensure the functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, realistic implementation schedules and system architecture for each assignment.
  • Interact with key partners and internal users regarding timelines, technical issues, and infrastructure integration.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements in the overall development process.
  • Ensure work progress to schedule and keep (internal) customers informed of project the progress.
  • Stay current with trends, techniques, technology and other factors impacting the job.

Requirements
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent job experience.
  • Minimum of 5-year experience in a technical software development role.
  • Object Oriented Design, Java 8, Spring/SpringBoot, REST Services, RDBMS (Oracle, MySQL, etc.), SQL, Git, JUnit, Docker, Jira, JavaScript frameworks (Angular, React, Vue, etc.).
  • Able to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical staff members.
  • Able to effectively communicate with non-technical members of the organization.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.

Job Duties

  • Adhere to established methodologies for project management as outlined in PMBOK plus experience running Agile projects.
  • Establish a Project Charter for each approved project, defining the projects goals, objectives, risks, assumptions, staffing levels, roles and responsibilities, work breakdown structure, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Manage project activities throughout the project lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, scheduling, documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses, risk analyses, and ROI calculations to determine project feasibility.
  • Plan project timelines, milestones and deliverables using the appropriate software tools and/or PM methods.
  • Organize project teams into suitable workgroups and guide the teams throughout their efforts to produce deliverables according to specification.
  • Conduct stakeholder meetings and forums in order to solicit feedback, input, and expectations; incorporate these into project plans.
  • Follow pre-established formal change management corporate processes or develop when a new process is required.
  • Establish and deliver mechanisms for tracking project progress and reporting to stakeholders via a formal communications plan.
  • Produce regular reports (status, escalations, etc.) on the progress of projects; deliver these reports during regular stakeholder meetings.
  • Track all project costs to ensure completion within budget; procure extra budget funding where necessary.
  • Closely monitor the efforts and billing of third-party workers, such as consultants, contractors and other specialists.
  • Identify and work to resolve conflicts within project teams and associate work. The Business Unit manager will be involved at this level.
  • Create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
  • Manage project dependencies.
  • Ability to assess corporate climate, socio-economic factors, trends, and other criteria to determine chances of project success.
  • Intuitive grasp of organizational structure in order to manage cross-departmental and cross-disciplinary resource allocation.
  • Some effective negotiation, diplomatic, and conflict resolutions skills.
  • Facilitation of meetings, feedback sessions, and briefings in order to create consensus among stakeholders.
  • Able to effectively communicate with all types of staff, including technical, professional, and upper management.
  • Some knowledge of financial management and technology management.
  • Some problem identification and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to create and edit project documents, materials, and presentations.
