QA Technical Advisor

Job Summary

The Quality Assurance (QA) Technical Advisor works with the QA resources, Technical Lead, Business Analyst and Project Manager to ensure that quality standards and procedures are met and aligned with customer specifications. The QA Technical Advisor will also lead the establishment of performance standards, procedures, and audit controls in order to meet business requirements, as well as identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of the software delivery.   

In addition, the QA Technical Advisor will work closely with the QA resources to write and execute manual and automated test scripts.  The Quality Assurance Technical Advisor will also act as liaison with customers and assume responsibility for ensuring corrective actions with customer specifications.

Job Duties
  • Provide leadership developing and directing QA and quality improvement initiatives for all company products and services. 

  • Monitor QA systems and advise the team on system performance; publish statistics regarding performance against set goals. 

  • Perform internal QA audits that are compliant with corporate policies, practices, and procedures. 

  • Collaborate with client representatives to ensure full customer satisfaction with the company's products and services. 

  • Maintain and improve on a QA program for monitoring quality, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers. 

  • Conduct risk analyses, verification, validation activities, and formal design reviews, as applicable. 

  • Support new product development and continuous improvement and by integrating quality control tools into processes. 

  • Promote and advocate quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization. 

  • Create and maintain QA control documentation. 

  • Create and maintain technical documentation as applicable. 

  • Write and execute manual tests and automated test scripts as applicable. 


  • University degree or diploma in Computer Science. 

  • IQSTB Certification. 

  • Minimum 5 years of direct work experience with QA systems, regulations, guidelines, and associated standards. 

  • Must possess excellent communication skills for liaising and communicating with customers and internal departments. 

  • Practical experience with risk management, product testing, capability studies, and control plans is an asset. 

  • Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques is desirable. 

  • Highly motivated and self-directed. 

  • Extremely detail-oriented and analytical thinker. 

  • Able to interface directly with cross-functional teams. 

  • Able to create and review technical documentation, including project plans, test procedures, and design documents. 

  • Able to develop, review, maintain metrics and quality audits.

Working Conditions
